Meta Tags, XLMNS Attribute and Nesting

HAPPY NEW YEAR!!! Today I decided to pick back up with my examples on proper web format. I hit on the use of meta tags and the xlmns attribute in the html opening tag because my pages will all be in the XHTML strict doctype. With that being the preferred doctype and with the changes coming up in HTML 5, I might as well teach it. If you use the validator on the W3C website, it will kick your page back without those things in it hence the importance.

Since the meta tags are "nested" within the head tag, I decided to touch on that early on too. If you want to see more, just check out the page under the same title as this post over to the left under the Pages heading.

So, how do you all feel that I am doing with my lessons so far? Yes, it's basic and yes, it's boring, but it's necessary to start off right. Hopefully I can finish up the basic HTML section and move on to basic CSS soon. That should be fun. Do you see anything that's missing or that I should include? If you can think of any sites you want me to include in my blogroll, please drop me a comment.

Ok, see you all for lists tomorrow. This time, I promise it will be about lists since the page is pretty much done now.
