Day 1
Ok, so today is the first day as you can see by my intro blog. Well, here are things I’ve done and learned: After putting my first website on Go Daddy, I learned about Dreamhost, which is by far cheaper and you get more for your buck. So, I registered my new domain name after signing up with Dreamhost and picked one that seemed to fit what I’m up to, only to realize I misspelled the damn thing. So instead of mybeginningweb, I got mybegginingweb.com. So I checked and the proper spelling was available and I decided I’d rather spend the extra $10 to register the correct domain name than look like a real dork and stay with the old one.
So next up I decided to have add my blog software to track my progress with. I figured out that I didn’t have to go through a gazillion steps to set up WordPress on Dreamhost, I just had to go to my control panel and a few clicks later I was done. I’ll need to explore what some of the applications they have are and what they do.
So here are some questions for those following my blog: How many of you have started up a site from scratch and what lessons did you learn? If you haven’t ever done this, are you thinking to do it and what would your site be about?
Next up I will create a basic html page with the VERY basic structure and tags and explain exactly what I did and how it turned out. Stay tuned.

Not sure if you looked but last night when I installed WordPress through Dreamhost 2.9 was available. I guess it took them a day to get the new version uploaded.
